SpamFighter Pro comes with all the features you would expect from a popular spam blocker. Here are some of the important ones:

Installation and Set Up

Installation of SpamFighter Pro is through a windows installer package and is usually very straightforward.

Next, you need to set up a SpamFighter Pro user account which only takes a few seconds.

The only other thing you need to do after installation is create a "whitelist" and "blacklist" of email addresses. You do not need to do this, but it will certainly help speed up blocking spam.


Support

SpamFighter Pro support consists of a comprehensive FAQ, as well as email contact with the technical, sales and administration departments.

Not the most comprehensive support structure, but not inadequate either.


Does SpamFighter Pro Work?

SpamFighter Pro is quite successful in cutting down spam, but like any other spam blocker it certainly does not get rid of all your spam.

SpamFighter Pro is at its most basic level a community-based spam blocker. What this means is that the actual users decide what emails are spam and not spam.

For instance, if you receive an email that you deem to be spam, you click a button on the SpamFighter Pro toolbar, the email is marked as spam and is sent to your spam folder. This email will also be marked as spam in the SpamFighter Pro central database and will automatically be sent to the spam folder of all other SpamFighter Pro users who received this email.

Apart from that, it also seems that SpamFighter Pro has some filtering rules, but what they are is unclear. And that is probably what SpamFighter Pro prefers, because nobody can reverse engineer it to get around the spam filters.

Because of the community based approach of SpamFighter Pro, we imagined that a fair bit of spam emails will get through the filters. Imagine our surprise when it was less than 10%!

Now 10% might sound like a lot, but if you compare it to other similar kinds of spam blockers, it is actually very low.


Conclusion

SpamFighter Pro is good value for money. It is simple, easy to install and set up and gets rid of a lot of spam.

The only negative point is that it only works with Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express or Windows Mail.

So if you use one of the above email programs, SpamFighter Pro is probably one of the best anti spam software available today.
