Nowadays, spammers use lots of tricks just to get you to open their email. They’ll use common “from” names, thinking that if you know a Mark or a Tracy, you might just open an email from them titled “Hi!”. Spam filter software programs also allow you to bounce spam back to the spammer. This is a really great feature. When you bounce spam back to the spammer, it tells them that their spam was undeliverable to your address, making them think that your email address isn’t valid. You can also report spammers to the server company they use or even to the Federal Trade Commission.
Installing spam filter software is always a good idea. With the several and sometimes dozens of spam emails that come to most email addresses every day, the amount of time lost just deleting spam emails actually adds up over the course of a week, adding up to quite a lot of time spent dealing with spam over the course of a year. The irritation that constant unblocked spam emails can add to your day can also lower your mood, making your workday less enjoyable.
With spam filter software, there is no longer any reason that you need to see anything other than wanted emails from friends, family, coworkers and clients.
